Shaolin Kung Fu Yoga is an amazing Chinese film that has taken the world by storm. It stars extremely famous Bollywood actor Prabhudeva in a story set in China during the Tang Dynasty. Shaolin Kung Fu Yoga has become one of the most popular martial arts films in recent years, but it is not just an entertaining movie. It teaches viewers about Chinese history and culture through its character development, story line, and spiritual lessons. The movie follows protagonist Wu Geng as he teams up with his childhood friend Mo Haili to find their father Qi Baishi after being separated for five years at a Shaolin monastery following their parents' divorce. The father is a martial arts master who specializes in a form of Shaolin Kung Fu called Yoga. In the process, the young men come across enemy fighters from India and must use their Kung Fu skills to defend China from the Indians' invasion. This movie is a great way for English speakers to become familiar with Chinese history and culture in a fun and entertaining way. The movie begins in a monastery during the Tang Dynasty of China where Master Qi Baishi (played by Prabhudeva) is training groups of young Shaolin disciples including his two sons, Wu Geng (played by Jackson Rathbone) and Murong Haili (played by Huang Xiao Ming). However, the boys' parents are not on good terms and Qi Baishi agrees to a divorce. Due to a misunderstanding, Murong Haili thinks that his father abandoned him and is extremely disappointed. He leaves the monastery and his father without saying goodbye. Meanwhile, Wu Geng tries to comfort his saddened father by promising that he will find Murong Haili. Five years later the two brothers meet again at their father's house where he has been trying to teach them Shaolin Kung Fu. Wu Geng has become skilled in martial arts while Murong Haili is quite unruly and undisciplined. The two brothers have a difficult relationship and do not get along at first. However, once they learn the true reason their father was able to teach Kung Fu, they reconcile and move forward with the plan to find their mother. It is learned that Wu Geng's mother is a beautiful Indian princess named Ratna. She has been imprisoned by the current ruler of India who wants to seize control over China for himself. One day, Murong Haili discovers a secret cave under his father's house that leads to a mountain range near Tibet where Ratna is being held captive by an Indian military leader named Rana Pratap Singh (played by Sonu Sood). At first, Murong Haili refuses to help his mother but after seeing her in danger he changes his mind and leads some of the monastery monks on a mission to rescue her. After many misadventures, the monks are successful in saving Ratna. However, they are then captured by Rana Pratap Singh who is mad that they have not killed Wu Geng or Murong Haili.
